The Team
Project is a progressive assignment which builds over a 5 or 8 week course.
There are check points which allow the instructor to provide feedback and guided instruction to aid students and
teams in achieving their goals.
Reflective
writing is a component of this team assignment which allow students to self and peer assess while they are engaged
in the team process.
The use of
multimedia and technology in this project assist in developing higher-level cognitive skills, utilize
a project based learning approach while appealing to learners with multiple learning styles in
their courses.
Liu (2003)
noted that by designing projects, students developed numerous skills, including further development of their cognitive skills.
The team assignment utilizes various modes of learning to achieved a required goal while researching and developing an authentic artifact, a team project.
All of the
team can bring their skills together to learn and teach each other while being guided by the instructor.
